As a Scottsdale personal trainer, I see people OBSESS over their biceps in the gym. Curl after curl. Pump, pump, pump. Girls and boys alike do it. The guys desperately trying to bulk up their arms… they ladies struggling to tone and slim down their arms.
YET, everybody is neglecting the BACK side of the arm… the tricep muscle.
As a Scottsdale personal trainer I think the triceps get forgotten, because they are “behind” you in essence. Whereas, the biceps seem so predominately placedĀ in front.
BUT did you know…
The tricep muscle makes up 2/3 of your upper arm muscles, while the bicep makes up only 1/3.
It is CLEAR that the tricep trumps the bicep in size !

So whether you are trying to bulk up or slim down, you need to take your focus OFF the bicep a bit and crank the heat up on your triceps.
