Energy Balls
Posted by Laurie Stilwell in Energy Balls, RECIPES on July 20, 2011
I had some bananas that needed eating and I have been on a fig kick lately so I went on a hunt to find a recipe that included these two things as staples. I shockingly found several recipes, but of course I put my own healthy twist in it and came up with my own version. I call them Energy Balls. And they are scrumptious.
Would you believe that ALL you need for this recipe 6 simple healthy ingredients?
2.5 cups of Rolled Oats
3 ripe bananas
10-15 chopped figs
the amount of nutmeg and cinnamon is up to your personal taste
1/3 cup of olive oil
First, start by thoroughly mashing the bananas in a bowl.
From there, add in the rest of the ingredients and mix it up well.
Feel free to get creative and add things like nuts, seeds, peanut butter, or chocolate chips.
Put in fridge for 20 minutes.
Roll into balls and bake at 350 degrees for 18- 20 minutes.
And vuala…
It should make about 25 balls! Each ball contains 76 calories at the most !
Try a batch of Energy Balls for yourself. They have a wonderful fluffy grain texture, with a hint of wonderful sweetness from the figs.
Energy Balls can function as a healthy dessert or an on- the- go healthy snack, or even a pre-workout energy boost.
Bite into your own fresh batch!
I’m going to box these up and bring some in for my clients !
