LOW BACK STRETCHES

Unfortunately, low back pain can be very common. As a Scottsdale personal trainer, I know that many people start training with me in hopes to strengthen their core so they have less low back pain. Core strengthening will definitely help reduce back pain, but what if I told you several of your symptoms could be relieved and even eradicated through stretching too?

As a Scottsdale personal trainer, I make it a priority to educate my clients about the importance of stretching. It should be a crucial part of any fitness regime. As your Scottsdale personal trainer, I want to teach you some basic back stretches that will greatly help reduce any tightness or soreness in the low back region.

The first one featured below is very easy to do and it works wonders. Simply lay on your back and hug your knees as close to your chest as possible. Without bouncing, keep actively pulling your knees to your chest and take deep, slow and controlled breathes. Hold for a minimum of 30 seconds. Feel free to hold the stretch up to 4 or 5 minutes if you have the time… this will allow the muscles ample time to fully release. You can even have some one stand above and push your knees down for you so you can fully enjoy the stretch without working for it.
