As a Scottsdale personal trainer, I know there can be a lot of misleading information about nutrition out there. Unfortunately, so many companies use gimmicks and marketing tactics to sell their product in order to make money off you, NOT because they care about your health.

As your Scottsdale personal trainer, I want to focus in on one of the biggest, most misrepresented items out there: EGGS!

Do you really know what the healthiest part of the egg is? White or Yellow?

I am always having to talk people through the fact that an entire egg, yellow and all, is GOOD FOR YOU! I am SO over this egg white only business. (Plus, on a side note, buying egg whites are way more expensive than a dozen eggs… Could there be a money-making agenda here from the egg white only camp?)

I

Eggs!!!

Listen up people, eat the ENTIRE EGG! The yellow part is rich in anti- oxidants, dense with nutrition, and loaded with vitamins and minerals. The yolk of an egg has calcium, B6, B12, iron , zinc, folate, and phosphorus. Plus, the yolk has tons of fat soluble vitamins such as A, D, E, and K …AND it has ALL the essential fatty acids you NEED.

So you see, in terms of nutrition, the whites of the egg literally pale in comparison to the yolks. In addition, how wasteful to throw out the yellow? Can you imagine your great grandma doing that?

Now, let your Scottsdale personal trainer be clear! The wonderful protein of an egg is more in the white part than the yellow, BUT did you know that your body can’t even use that protein correctly without the presence of the amino-acids found in the yellow part of the egg! Eating an entire egg is eating an ENTIRE COMPLETE PROTEIN!

As your Scottsdale personal trainer, I want to address the lies that eggs are fattening and will negatively affect your cholesterol levels.

1. The yellow part of the egg is SO jammed packed with nutrition that it will actually help your body to BURN FAT! The the yellow part of an egg contain such high micro-nutrient dense calories that it will actually help to regulate your appetite the rest of the day.

2. According to an extensive study out of the University of Connecticut, participants that ate 3-4 WHOLE eggs a day had next to no change in their cholesterol levels and if they did have change it was a positive change. Not to mention, heart disease does not develop due to bad (LDL) cholesterol alone. Though LDL is a carrier of bad cholesterol in the blood, it is a deficient diet, a sedentary lifestyle, a poor metabolism, and toxins that actually break down the particle LDL, which in turn, causes heart disease. Cholesterol by itself does NOT cause heart disease. No more being brainwashed with misinformation on fat and cholesterol.

So, as your Scottsdale personal trainer, I hope my 101 course on eggs helps you understand that the entire is GOOD for you! The WHOLE egg, is DRASTICALLY better tasting and better for your health than the white part alone.
