Healthy Snack Options

As a personal trainer in Scottsdale, my clients are constantly asking me what they can have for a healthy snack. There are so many options out there claiming to be healthy snacks, so I decided to make a Scottsdale personal trainer approved list. Let’s start with the healthy snack I had today:

Healthy Snack

Trader Joes has some good and bad(added sugar) dried fruit so be sure to read the nutrition labels. Your Scottsdale personal trainer has weeded through and found the good ones for you. What you see above is Trader Joes 8oz bagged Dried Pineapple Rings with Trader Joes Dried 6oz bagged Bartlett Pears. I also have an organic Trader Joes 5.3oz blueberry greek yogurt. Some greek yogurt are loaded with sugar, but I have found that Trader Joes’ brands are consistently the lowest ranging from 10-18 grams of sugar per 5-6 oz container.

This snack is has less than 300 nutrition packed calories with 12grams of fiber and 14 grams of protein and only 65 grams of sodium.

The thing to remember is MODERATION… be sure your snack IS a “snack”, not a meal.
